About Miro [] Slav - OtraVista photography
STATEMENT:
First and foremost I am all about creating images that capture the viewers eyes.
I would not say that I take photos. I do create them. I create them in the way a painter paints. Once a while I take my photo camera and a tripod and I go where I planned before. I spend a lot of time on the location. I try different points of view. A little bit to the right than back to the left. Up and down. When it appears I got a shot I set a tripode and start to play with a camera settings, and filters.
The point is to create the image that will show you the piece of the world the way I have seen it at this particular moment.
I like my clients and customers to be happy with what they get. Whether it is a photography print from my collection or a portrait of the family the final effect must be the same- pleasing to the eyes and when needed dramatic.
HISTORY:
At the beginning, it was a drawing and painting, that attracted me as a child. After finishing courses of advanced architecture drawing, I learned about perspective, light and composition. I just needed a technical knowledge to get into photography. That came during university where I could take a photography as additional courses.
ADVENTURE:
Through years photography brought to me many adventures and allowed me to talk to many interesting people. Not only that photo camera keeps me going out for a shooting even if it is raining and thunders are striking around, but also doing commissions for travel companies I had opportunities to visit Croatia, Alp mountains in Italy, and just recently Cuba.
TECHNICAL NOTE:
For me photography is not snapping around and counting that one on 1000 photos will be nice. Good photography is never a result of luck. It is a result of opportunity meeting correct preparation. That means that all the equipment such as filters, flash, studio lamps etc, has to be learned so I don't fail in a correct moment.
